Can you integrate SCORM files from an authoring software, like Articulate or Captivate, with DesignPLUS?

You can integrate the SCORM files into an assignment or page in an iFrame.

Because SCORM files typically require users to edit the file in the source program, you cannot use DesignPLUS to edit or style anything inside the SCORM package. However, you can integrate SCORM files into an assignment or page that has been styled with DesignPLUS.

Many customers use DesignPLUS to build course pages (such as Home, Instructions, or Help content), and then embed SCORM activities within those pages.

SCORM in Canvas: two approaches

1. Embed in a Canvas page

If you embed a SCORM file into a Canvas content item as an iFrame, you can use DesignPLUS to style the rest of the page and adjust the iFrame’s layout (such as size and placement). For more information, see our User Guide: Embedding.

We recommend the iFrame approach if polished, consistent course design is a priority.

2. Link or external tool

You can also add a SCORM file directly to a module as a link or external tool. However, in this case, you will not be able to use DesignPLUS to interact with the file at all. Depending on how the SCORM tool is configured, this may be the only available option.
