How do I resolve the error, "Oops! An Error Occurred" in the Cidiscape LTI?

This error in Cidiscape is likely due to a caching issue with the Google Chrome browser. Clear the cache and try again.

Some users have reported receiving this error message when trying to do an initial launch of Cidiscape:

Error text: Oops! An Error Occurred - Sorry, an error has occurred.  Please try again later.  If the problem persists, please contact the support team.

Clear Browser Cache and Cookies

This error is likely due to Google Chrome's hard caching.  Try clearing the cache and launching the Cidiscape LTI again.  Information about clearing the cache can be found at https://clear-my-cache.com/.

Add Sites to the Allowed to Use Third-Party Cookies List

Another thing to try is adding the following sites to the Allowed to use third-party cookies list in your browser's Settings under Privacy and Security > Third-party cookies under Customized Behavior.

  • cidiscape.ciditools.com
  • apac.cidiscape.ciditools.com (APAC region)

Log in to Cidiscape

Alternatively, Cidiscape may not have received authorization from your user to use the tool. To log in to Cidiscape:

  • Go to cidiscape.ciditools.com or apac.cidiscape.ciditools.com
  • Type in your Canvas domain
  • Authorize the tool if asked to authorize
  • Try accessing the Cidiscape LTI in Canvas
