Cidiscape automatically scans courses in Batches every 72 hours. Users can manually scan courses/Batches on demand, or set up Canvas Live Events for more responsive data.
Automatic Scans
Any course that has been added to a Batch will be automatically scanned by Cidiscape every 72 hours, to ensure your data stays up-to-date.
Manual Scans
Any time a user would like to refresh data for an individual course or multiple courses in a Batch, they may scan courses on-demand in Cidiscape.

Canvas Live Events
Your Canvas/Cidiscape Administrator may also enable Canvas Live Events. This feature allows Cidiscape to keep itself and other Cidi Labs tools up-to-date with changes to content as they are being made by course designers, rather than waiting for its usual 72-hour scan cycle.
When a change is made in Canvas, Cidiscape receives a notification, and that course will immediately be added to the scan queue.
Changes to these items will trigger a course to be added to the Cidiscape scan queue:
- Assignment
- Attachment
- Discussion Topic
- Syllabus
- Wiki Page
