Is there a limit for how many module items can be in the DesignPLUS Progress Indicator?

Yes, there is a limit to the number of Module Items in the Progress Indicator tool.

If there are over 100 items in a module, the Progress Indicator will no longer appear on the page or will display a message "Module too large to display."

This is because Canvas has a limitation setting the pagination at 100.

A best practice is not to have a module with more than 100 items. Modules help you organize your course content into logical sections. If a module has more than 100 items, or even half that, it can be difficult for students to remember where they left off.

A progress bar (except for the Basic Progress Bar) would be overwhelming to students with too many items. Below are examples of how very large modules might appear if a Progress Bar is added to them.

Icon Progress Bar with more than 50, but less than 100 items

Icon Progress Bar with just under 100 items.

Module Item Completion with more than 50, but less than 100 items

Module Item Completion with just under 100 items.

Basic Progress Bar with over 100 items
