01/05/2023: LTI 1.3 Upgrades

Cidi Labs has received questions related to LTI 1.3 upgrades for our products.  Information and updates about the LTI 1.3 upgrade processes will be added to this article.

DesignPLUS

6/2023: The LTI 1.3 upgrade is now ready for the DesignPLUS LTI tools.  Click here to access the instructions for performing the upgrade yourself.  Also, check out FAQ in this article: DesignPLUS and LTI 1.3

1/5/2023: The LTI 1.3 upgrade is currently unavailable for the DesignPLUS LTI tools (Multi Tool and Upload/Embed Image Tool).  We have upgraded the Multi Tool and Upload/Embed Image Tool to support LTI 1.3, but we are currently working through the process of acquiring LTI 1.3 certification.  We will notify our customers when the upgrade is available.  We'll also send step-by-step instructions for performing the upgrades.

TidyUP

The LTI 1.3 upgrade is available for TidyUP.  Please follow the directions below to upgrade.  If you are unsure which LTI version your institution is using, feel free to contact support@cidilabs.com.  As a general rule of thumb, if you installed TidyUP before 2022, you are likely on LTI 1.1.

TidyUP LTI 1.3 Upgrade Process

  1. Go to your Canvas admin screen and select Developer Keys.
  2. Remove the current key called TidyUP.
  3. Next, go to the settings for any accounts in which TidyUP was previously installed and select Apps > View App Configurations.
  4. Find the TidyUP app and delete it.
  5. Now you're ready to install the LTI 1.3.  Follow steps 2 through 4 in the TidyUP LTI 1.3 Installation Process document.

Contact support@cidilabs.com if you need any assistance with this process.

UDOIT Cloud

UDOIT Cloud (version 3) has always been LTI 1.3 so as long as your institution is using the latest UDOIT Cloud (version 3) and not UDOIT version 2 then there is no need to upgrade.  Cidi Labs will be decommissioning UDOIT version 2 as of January 31st, 2023 and it will no longer be available.

ReadyGO

A LTI 1.3 upgrade is currently unavailable for ReadyGO.  Cidi Labs is not planning on upgrading the current version of ReadyGO from LTI 1.1 to LTI 1.3.  Instead, the new version of ReadyGO coming out later this year will be LTI 1.3.
