Can an institution limit the DesignPLUS themes available to its users?

Use the Themes page in the Customizations course to control which themes are available in the Sidebar.

Those enrolled in Customizations courses, which are created during install, can easily control which themes are available at their institution.

Themes can be turned on or off as needed. If a theme is turned off, it will not affect the pages where the theme was applied before the change, but users will not be able to select that theme to use on future pages.

To manage available themes:
  1. Open the Customizations course for the account you wish to manage (e.g. Primary Customizations for the entire Canvas instance; Extended Customizations for specific subaccounts; Shared Customizations for specific teams of users).
  2. Navigate to the [Themes] page and edit the page.
  3. To turn a theme off, change the Y in the Active column to N.
    • Y means the theme is active and the button for that theme will be available for your users
    • N means the theme is not active and the button for that theme will not be an option for your users
  4. Save the page to make changes to the available themes.
