Updating the task runner role permissions

If you installed Cidiscape before March 24, 2026 your task runner user may not have the permissions needed to complete some UDOIT/TidyUP actions

When Cidiscape was first released in 2023, the task runner role only required these permissions:

  • Course Content - view
  • Courses - view list
  • Announcements - view
  • Discussions - view

After many releases, the task runner role now requires additional permissions for specific Cidiscape, UDOIT, and TidyUP actions and columns.

If you installed prior to March 24, 2026, your task runner role is missing some permissions.

Instructions to Update

To update your task runner role's permission, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the account where your task runner role was created (root by default)
  2. Select Permissions
  3. Select Account Roles
  4. Find the role called "Cidiscape Task Runner" 
  5. Enable the permissions listed under Step 3 of the Cidiscape Install Instructions
