      Where can the RCE tools be used?

       

      The RCE tools work with the following:

      • Pages
      • Assignments
      • Course announcements
      • Course syllabus
      • The description portion of discussions
      • The description portion of classic quizzes

      They do not work with:

      • Events
      • Account-level announcements
      • Portfolios
      • Quiz questions
      • Discussion responses
      • New Quizzes
      • Assignment submissions
      • Canvas Catalog listings

      A general rule of thumb is if there are multiple RCE boxes on a page, the rich content editor tools will not work. When there are multiple versions of the rich content editor on a page, it is difficult for the tools to keep track of the editor in which a user is currently typing.
