Tabs, Accordions, and other interactive elements from DesignPLUS may not render as expected in the Canvas Immersive Reader. This is because the Canvas Immersive Reader is not a true screen reader.
The Canvas Immersive Reader is not a true screen reader. This means it does not follow all of the guidelines and standards of a screen reader. It was designed to read the content of Canvas. Since native Canvas doesn't support accordions and tabs, it doesn't account for content. It only reads what is visible on the page.
While the Canvas Immersive Reader is not anything Cidi Labs has control over, DesignPLUS is compliant with the WAI Accessibility Guidelines.
You can read more in our Accessibility and Usability Tools User Guide.
If you find specific issues in DesignPLUS that do not meet WAI accessibility, we are always happy to receive feedback on how to make the tools more accessible. Please contact support@cidilabs.com to report these issues.
